Who We Are:
Laberge Environmental Services (LES or “Laberge”) was registered in 1990 by Bonnie Burns. We are a 100% locally owned and operated environmental services provider based in Whitehorse, Yukon.
Bonnie Burns Field Biologist, Ken Nordin Applied Science Technologist and Stuart Withers Biologist make up the core of LES and have completed many assignments together as a project team. We have great depth of experience in the environmental field in the Yukon.
While we often function as a stand-alone we like to collaborate with others and often join multidisciplinary project teams with highly skilled specialists and professionals such as Civil, Mining and Environmental Engineering Consultants, Geologists, Fish and Wildlife Biologists and other Scientists.
What We Do:
We supply high quality environmental services in baseline bio-physical studies, aquatic impact studies, environmental site assessment, spill response, reclamation and remediation and hands on skill transfer and capacity building to students and first nations. We have a strong hydrometric monitoring team and also supply hydrographic services. We collaborate on passive treatment techniques and innovative soil amendments in revegetation research with the Yukon College and other partners. We are very interested in applied science solutions that use local human and natural resources. We are never reluctant to share our knowledge; our library now has over 200 publications and technical reports and is available on request with the permission of the client.
We are skilled field workers as well as diligent researchers, report writers and communicators. We command excellent technical judgment and are committed to applied environmental science and technology to protect the Yukon’s environment.
